Plymstock Chapel was born in February 1968 out of a shared longing to know God more deeply and live out an active, growing faith. A small group of believers living in the Plymstock area, who were worshipping together in Plympton, sensed God calling them to establish a local Christian presence rooted in prayer, community, and discipleship.

At that time, an unexpected opportunity arose: a redundant telephone exchange was offered to the group. What might have seemed an unlikely setting became, through faith and vision, a place transformed for worship. With prayerful commitment and trust in God’s provision, the building was repurposed into what is now Plymstock Chapel—a space dedicated to gathering in God’s presence and encouraging one another in faith.

From the beginning, our story has been about connection: connection with God, with one another, and with the community around us. Over the years, the chapel has been shaped not just by bricks and mortar, but by lives changed through prayer, worship, Scripture, and service. Each generation has brought new expressions of faith, while holding firmly to the same foundation—God’s love revealed through Jesus Christ.

Today, Plymstock Chapel continues to be a welcoming and contemporary Christian community. We seek to grow in faith together, support one another through life’s joys and challenges, and share God’s love in practical and meaningful ways. Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning after a season away, or looking for a church family to call home, you are warmly invited to join us as we continue this journey—listening for God’s voice, growing in faith, and walking together in hope.
